The high thermal conductivity can be employed for ND applications as well. ND is a suitable additive for coolants to improve the thermal conductivity of cooling media. An addition of only 0.3% to cooling oils for large transistors causes a 20% growth of thermal conductivity. This effect serves to prevent the formation of hot zones inside the coolant and the consequent destruction of the devices.
